How To Enroll
We are still accepting exception applications if you meet one of the following criteria:
- Students entering school for the first time as a kindergarten student, up until September 1, 2017
- Students in grades 1–12 who meet one of the conditions specified in section 18 of the Iowa Department of Education’s Open Enrollment application
If you meet one of the above criteria, please follow the steps below to submit your application.
1. Submit Open Enrollment Application
Parents must submit the Iowa Department of Education's (IDE) Open Enrollment Application [PDF] to both Clayton Ridge Community District and resident school district. Please refer to our instruction sheet [PDF] for more information.
Send your completed, signed application(s) to BOTH Clayton Ridge (your receiving district) and your resident district.

Send your application(s) by standard post. To find the correct mailing address, go to the Iowa Department of Education’s website and refer to the Iowa Public School District Directory.
2. Create a Parent Portal Account
Set up a user account to start the enrollment process.

3. Submit an Online Application
To submit an online application, you'll provide us with basic information about your student.
4. Complete the Admissions Process
To complete the admissions process, you'll provide more detailed information about your student, submit necessary documentation and fulfill any additional requirements related to your student's enrollment.
5. Complete Admissions Call and Final Documentation
All families will participate in an Admissions Call with an Enrollment Consultant. You may also have additional steps to complete depending on your student's individual situation. If this applies to you, you will be notified and instructed on how to complete them.
6. Receive Official Approval
To complete the admissions process, you'll provide more detailed information about your student, submit necessary documentation and fulfill any additional requirements related to your student's enrollment. Upon successful completion of the above steps and approval of your Open Enrollment application, your student will be approved in our school.
